Ka-Boom!

For a while lately it has looked like a bomb or some natural disaster happened in my house.  That's what you get when you move.  For the past week we've been sorting and packing, sorting and packing.  It's amazing how much stuff can accumulate over one year.  I'm just glad we actually don't have a huge ol' house to move.  Part of the problem though is that we aren't just moving.  Almost all of the stuff is being stored for 4 months or more.  So, we've had to be careful in where to and the best way to keep certain stuff.  Well...enough about the disaster.  Now for some pictures.

This Friday we are moving all the furniture and as much as we can.  Then on Saturday, Kyle and I will do cleanup and bring the rest over.

Boy's Nights

So there isn't much to write about.  School has started, but it's pretty much the same as last semester.  We are just trying to pack up the house.


However, in the past two weeks Kyle has hosted a LAN (Local Area Network) party.  For those who don't know what that is, it means 10+ guys come to my house with computers and laptops in tow.  They sit down and connect all together.  Then start playing some battling games.  They typically play just StarCraft.  But this time they included Age of Empires (AoE) because me and another friend's wife know and will play.  I only got to play 1.5 games of this, but it was fun.  The parties last 8 hours on average.  All of them just staring at the computers...mumbling stuff...yelling at their allies to help them...or yelling a the enemies to get away...it can be a funny sight to see.  As pictured below...

I don't mind Kyle doing this.  He gets to spend time with the boys.  Has fun strategizing and learning new techniques with the games.  Plus, usually I get to spend time with the girls.  There are a few of Kyle's friends who are married or have girlfriends.  So we usually go somewhere else to watch a movie....basically not be there.

"I Have Some Good News and Bad News"

 Thats the first words out of the hopeful future employer of Kyle.  Let's start with the bad news.  Kyle had applied through 2 different programs for the same job.  One of them we were pretty sure he would get, and was like our backup plan.  Well...it's not anymore.  Due to technicalities and preference for veterans, he was not able to get the job through that program.  
  Then the good news...the second program, and the one that Kyle would prefer, is still in the works.  It got through the local hooplah stuff, and now is in the national.  However, we don't know how long it will be until we hear back from it all.  Could be in a few weeks could be a couple months.  He may or may not get it.  So...we are still waiting.
  Waiting though doesn't bring in any money, and so we are running low.  We were hoping to have Kyle a job by February and so we both planned on moving out.  I would go with my family, and he would go up North.  So, though it looks like he won't be getting the out of state job just yet...we still are moving out.  In with my family.  
   It's strange to have to move.  There is a "For Rent" sign in our window.  I got released from my calling, Kyle will soon be released.  Boxes are being stacked in our study.  There are no pictures on the walls.  And we keep trying to eat all our food storage stuff.

1 year down, ∞ to go!!

So on January 2nd we celebrated our 1 year anniversary.  The year has gone by very quick, although some time were very long.  We celebrate by having a lazy day!  I know that sounds probably like most our days this break because we both don't work...but the previous days were chaotic that it was nice not have to do much.  We still did our grocery shopping, but we weren't in any rush to get in our out of there.  Later that night, we cooked ourselves a fancy dinner.  We tried out filet mignons that we bought at Wal-Mart.  We cooked them too dry, but still ate them.  We had shake and bake potatoes, green beans, and a salad.  Plus...some Sparkling Grape Juice we got from our stocking.  Kyle surprised me with a gift.  To be truthful I forgot all about how some people give gifts for anniversaries.  Ooops.  The gift was a movie that we love to quote random things from....Night At The Museum 2.  It's just as good as the first one.  It was a just great day to kick off our next year and eternity together!  I didn't take any pictures...so here are some wedding photos.

Wedding

So Kyle's brother Trevor had his wedding on December 30th.  He married an amazing girl named Danielle...now they are the newest Hansens.  It was a crazy few days with helping his mom prepare for the reception and taking it all down.  It all went great though, and was so amazing.  I took some pictures...quite a bit though so I turned them into collages for quick viewing.  Some of the pictures are small, so if you just click on them it will enlarge them for ya.

So during the reception Kyle asked me to dance.  So we pulled out our ballroom class moves and had fun.  We've lost some of the skills but still knew the basics.  It was such FUN!  Afterwards we got applauded by two different tables, with a few comments of how they didn't know Kyle could dance like that.  The pictures are from some people who found my camera and were taking of pictures unbeknown to us.

Getting to the getaway car, and the top right picture is them getting away.  They had a stowaway in the back seat.  They were discovered before they drove off, but Trevor was in a hurry to make sure no one else tried to hop in.

Happy New Year

For New Years we didn't want to be party poopers. One of our friends was going bowling at the Texas and so we decided to tag along. Our group was fun, and I tried to take lots of pictures. I managed quite a few strikes throughout the night. Kyle in the first game got 4 in a row!! We bowled for like 3 hours straight. My fingers and wrist were so sore by the time we got home.
