Fall Celebrations

Fall has so many fun things to do.  We found out that are town does a Halloween Carnival.  Dexter was excited to go to this Halloween party.  Our costumes were mostly complete, so we all dressed up.  Except for the adults running the carnival no parents dressed up. Oh well, we're used to that.  I'm excited for our ward's trunk or treat where our entire ensemble will be shown off.

The next day we kept up the family fun.  Snowbird Ski Resort was having their customer appreciation day.  Free aerial tram rides!  We drove over there, and enjoyed the fall drive up Little Cottonwood Canyon. Then we donated our food and got the tram tickets.  When we go to the tram line we saw what was ahead.  A 2.5 hour wait line.  Well the people around us were nice, and we took turns taking the kids on walks so they wouldn't have to stand the entire time.

The wait finally ended and we got on 2nd to last tram of the day.  It was a beautiful and fun ride up. When it swayed it made your stomach flip, but in the cool rollercoaster way...although not as intense.

At the top it was beautiful...and cold.  There was still snow on the ground.  Brrrrr.  We didn't stay up too long because the trams were almost done, and we didn't realize how chilly it was up there.  If you notice we don't have jackets or anything warm.

He had fun going on all the dirt hills (as shown from his dusty butt) and checking out the views.

There weren't many trees left with fall colors, especially going up the mountain.  The ones left though, were great though.

It was a fun trip, but we were tired - our legs from standing that whole time, and having to keep 2 kids occupied while just waiting and inching forward in the line.

Well this past weekend we kept it chill.  Just working on house projects and playing at home.  Here's the hodgepodge of other photos with a few videos thrown in.

We've just been doing low key things after our big trip. 
General Conference came, and Melynn visited with us that weekend too.

Kyle and I also went on a date night to the temple.  First time in forever since Bountiful was always extremely crowded.  Like waiting for 3 sessions (1.5+ hours), and still not get in.  Well Ogden was still busy, but we only had to wait 1 session. It seems like on temple dates, large and small things make it so you don't feel like going.  Well that definitely happened.  Teething child, split open a gallon of milk on the floor, and a bunch of other little things. Then even at the temple, my most embarrassing moment ever (and probably ever continuing on) happened.  We were happy to go, but both hope that next time goes smoother. Our goal is to go monthly.

Columbus Day is a holiday that we always forget about, until Kyle remembers just a few weeks before that he gets it off!  We usually go and do some fall activities, and this year was a repeat.  I guess this is our tradition.  We went to the same nursery with the Hay maze that we've gone to.  This year a different person was running it and we could tell.  Lots of creepy clowns, witches and other things lying around the maze...even during the non-haunted hours. At least no real people haunting it.  Then because we were the only ones there a few of the extra stuff (tractor rides, pedal car races) wasn't setup.  Bummer.  Oh well, the maze was still fun, but we plan on trying a new place next year.
