One Direction

Alright this post is going to have many different sections because although it's only been like 2 weeks...it's been a busy two weeks.

Baby:
I am 33 weeks!  Less than a month and a half.  Well it turns out my kids are directionally challenged.  Remember Dex and his being transverse...well this little girl is thinking the same way so far.  My doctor isn't worried about it (unlike my previous doctor), and thinks she'll eventually turn the right way.  And I'm a lot less worried then last time.  Come what may.  I'm guessing it'll be at the 11th hour again with this child.
What I do wonder is everybody talks about kicks to the ribs and pressure in the hips.  I instead get some fun large head pressure against my ribs and lungs so I can't bend over any.  Then get kicks (super strong ones) to the hip bones and groin.  Along with her stretching her legs in between my hips.  I wonder which one is less fun, because I definitely don't like my way and think it wins.
How he'll play all day.  He can name almost all those ships, and many of the "guys."

Youth Conference:
We recently had a youth conference for our ward.  Kyle paid me back some of his week gone and watched Dex for 1.5 days while I was away at this.  The first day was hosted at Temple Square.  We had missionaries talk/teach us, John Bytheway talk, family history, cooking demo, and a few other activities.  It was great and a few of the youth loved it.  We all however were super tired by dinner time and were excited to see that we got to sit for 2 hours.  My body literally cracked and popped when I got to sit down.
The next day was their service activity.  We drove out to the middle of nowhere.  There was a Native American Washakie Tribe cemetery there that needed some help.  So our youth and us leaders pulled weeds and removed wild, invasive rose bushes for many hours.  Everyone was tired and dirty when we got home.

Came and took a nap with me one day.  He napped for 4.5 hours...I think it was a growth spurt day.
House:
So while Kyle was on his work trip, he really caught the house bug.  I've been stalking the house market up here for many of months.  Deciding what I do, do not like.  What areas we like.  Kyle said he really liked a certain area, so we looked at the houses there.
Anyways, we set up an appt. with a realtor for the houses for sale in this neighborhood.  We definitely liked one of them.  It had everything we wanted and were looking for (except for not as cheap as we wanted, but still barely doable).  So the next evening we again met with the realtor and submitted an offer!!
We heard back and the offers were all acccepted pretty quick.  Exciting right?!  Well on Monday I looked at the interest rates.  They had taken a jump.  Not just a small jump but an almost 1% jump.  Which would have added 150-200 dollars to our mortgage.  NOT DOABLE.  So we called our realtor and have now cancelled.
Now for starting over.  And with the new interest rate, the high limit for us has changed. It's amazing how such a few small numbers can affect so much.  I'm a little relieved and feel that this was the right move.  Budget was going to be tight, not to mention closing date was Aug. 14th.  I'm due the 10th.  Yikes.

Sunny Afternoon

I SURVIVED!
Kyle had a work trip from Monday through Friday in Tucson, AZ.  This meant a lot of Dexter and mom time.  I have to say one of my favorite times is when Kyle gets home.  It means a slight break from playing cars, spaceships, and changing diapers.  But this meant none of that for quite a few days.

I just learned to take it day by day, and don't use up all the special fun stuff at the beginning of each day.  That way at the end of the day when you're exhausted he'll be excited about watching a movie.  Which is how we ended a lot of nights.
Special fun - use Uncle Jake's cell phone to take a bunch of random photos.

Tuesday I spent all day making and decorating cupcakes for a Young Women activity.  But I was happy to use the class I took three years ago finally into use.
White layered cake with strawberry filling, and red velvet with cream cheese frosting cupcakes

Thursday I busted out a swimming pool.  So glad I did.  One hour of sitting outside while Dex just loved splashing around and running.  Just wish we were able to get some shade in that backyard.  From noon until 8 pm it's full, bright sun.  That's what hats, water and lots of sunblock are for.
Nice feeling water

Fun to splash around in

He even laid on his back...just kept his head up though.

I was surprised with how well I lasted.  For only being two months away from today, I didn't get too exhausted...and the house wasn't a wreck when Kyle got home.  I was super proud of myself for watching Dex 24/7 for 5 days AND keeping the house decent.

Ahhh...girl clothes
I only have two months left. I did take Dexter to Target and while there spotted girl's clothes.  So I bought the first thing from me for our little girl.  This was girly but not super girly.  Bows, hair stuff and super pink things are still overwhelm me in the stores.  And I do feel a bit bad that she doesn't have nearly as much homemade blankets and burp cloths that I did for Dexter.  She'll have to live with the gender neutral/slightly boyish items.  Maybe since my sewing is a bit caught up I can make her some quick things.  But as some have pointed out, and I agree with.  A girl using boy stuff isn't bad, like a little boy having to use girly stuff.

Oh...Kyle's work trip was good.  He learned a bunch and got cool swag (well cool to him).  His funny story was having to drive a Fiat as the rental car.  Imagine European Smart Car.  So two dudes (a coworker went to the training too) in a little car.
