Heart Check

I finally got to see the cardiologist right when we got back from our trip.  He said it probably isn't anything, but just wanted to check on a few things since pregnancy can put stress on the bodies, and weaken things like hearts.  I got sent home with this lovely device.

For two weeks I had 4 electrodes attached to me.  The electrodes connected via wires to the sensor hanging around my neck.  Then the sensor needed to be in close proximity to the large cell phone.  It was not comfortable, or hideable at all.  Being a mom made it hard.  Holding kids would pop my electrodes/wires off, their bodies would block the sensor, and then always having to go here and there around the house I would leave the cell phone too far away.  The cell phone was always beeping at me to fix these.  By the time it came to send it back, I was done!

I recently had my followup.  I got to have an ultrasound on my heart.  I've only seen baby's hearts, so it was cool to see mine and all the parts of it.  The doctor said there were no abnormal reading from the heart monitor, and the echo cardiogram (heart ultrasound) looked good too.  He said I don't have to see him again. :)

Planting season is coming up.  It kind of stinks to see such beautiful weather and know that I can't plant most things outside yet.  At least I can get started with indoor seedlings.

Well about a week after getting back, the kids and I started to feel a little under the weather, but then the weather came down too.

They had been snuggling me, but when I left this is what they looked like

 It started with a crazy windstorm.  Flying trampolines, our neighbor's playset was tipped over.  Then the dusty wind brought muddy rain...then suddenly it turned into snow.  Did I mention it was 50/60 degrees that morning, and then was snowing by the time Kyle came home?

 This little boy, as soon as he woke up and saw the snow couldn't stop asking to go outside.  Finally we all bundled up...it was below freezing.  Ellie pretty much just screamed, and Dexter pranced around with a big smile.  Such opposites.

 We waited for Ellie to take a nap, and then went outside again.

That is why I can't plant until May because there will still be another random snow storm or freeze.  The next day was warm and the snow melted off.  Back to lots of playing outside.
Dexter also turned 4, but I'll write all that up in a different post.  For now here's the other random happenings over the past couple weeks.

I had asked Dexter if he was tired (cause I was), but he said absolutely not.  Bouncing up and down, and it had me almost convinced.  I sent a quick email to Kyle, turn around and he is knocked out.

 We had a Young Women's activity where they had to answer questions to earn cooking ingredients.  Then use their ingredients and cook an amazing meal to be judged.

Spring Break Trip - with all the Thompsons

Friday morning we met up with my family at the Smith Performing Arts Center to take some family pictures.  The kids loved running around the colorful tubes while we set it up.

After which we drove to Sunset park.  My mom had watched Dexter play at this park while I took photos for Tyler and Sam.  Somehow, this park stuck in his memory.  Every time we went to a park in Utah, he would ask why this wasn't the park GG took him too.  I figured we needed to let this kid play at it one more time, and with his cousin too.

 Although it had been really warm for Jake's wedding, by the time my brother came into town it had cooled off.  It was a little chilly to play in the water, and they only stayed in it for a short time.  Dexter technically never went in it, just ran around the outside of it.

That concludes all the driving and busy stuff we did on Friday.  We got to my parent's house and just hung out for the rest of the day.

The next day while Melynn took the Texas Thompsons to Red Rock, we took the kids to a park.  It was the perfect balance for the kids.  Ellie is a little daredevil and is scary when she's on a playground for bigger kids, but Dexter gets bored if it's just all the baby stuff.   This one was perfect.

When everyone got back we started the Easter celebrations.  Egg dying was first.  Ellie didn't care, and Dexter only cared about one egg getting done.  I got to take my time and decorate a few however I wanted. :)

Aunt Melynn hosted the Easter Egg Hunt.  Each kid had a different style of egg to hunt for.  Ellie's was metallic, Dexter had camo, and Jane had patterned.

That pretty much concludes our trip to Vegas.  Everyone was exhausted by the time we got back home.
