The weekend started out with a game night.  We were running behind by an hour, and had forgot to call my cousin...so when we arrived nobody was home.  Lesson learned was let people know when your late.  Mariah did come back and we were able to have a fun game night with just the three of us.  We played my new game of Carcassone.  Then did some Dominion...but it took forever.  By the end of it I think my brain was just tired and I was saying weird stuff.  At least it was only family, they already know I'm crazy.
As always, I bring my camera...but then forget to take the pictures.  Mariah on the other hand does take pictures, so these were stolen from her.

We finally bought the stroller.  We decided to get it early because a) have a carseat class this week, b) I had coupons to get around 20% off, and c) I have a feeling the next 3 months will go by quickly and be really busy.  When testing it out we have discovered that Kyle's car really is tiny.  The carseat is the same size as most other ones, and it was a very tight fit.  It doesn't help we are both tall people so the seats get pushed pretty far back.  There'll definitely be some figuring out to fit it nicely in there.

But this was not Kyle's favorite part of Saturday, watching TRON from 1982 was.  We again went on base to the theater.  I really love the FREE part of it.  The movie was cheesy acting, interesting soundtrack, but good graphics for the time and the plot is interesting.  It was nice to watch it before we eventually watch the new one.  Since that doesn't come with the word FREE in front of it, it might be a little while...or we'll get it from Redbox because 1.07 is a lot closer to FREE than movie tickets are.

I love Sundays.  They are just so relaxful.  I sometimes walk to church, and enjoy the time to just think by myself.  Also this Sunday went better than last one because on my walk to church I didn't slip on ice in someone's driveway which resulted in having to finish the walk and be at church with a wet and slightly scratched butt and leg.

Well if you're keeping track I am now 28.5 weeks...I am officially in the third trimester.  I was going to take pictures today, but didn't feel like putting on cute clothes, doing my hair, or even getting out the camera.  I was willing last week though...so here's those photos.

Still have or just...

Yesterday I passed the 3 month mark...3 months that is until the baby is due (I'm 27 weeks).  So the question is is it only or just 3 months away, or still have?  Well that just depends on the day and topic.  In regards to getting furniture and such ready, thats in the category of still 3 months away.  In regards to joining our family and changing our lives, thats the just 3 months away.

Well yes the baby does consume topics and such, but its not completely our life...so I'll move on.  I kind of like the new years as like a fresh start to things.  This past week I updated and collaborated on our budget.  Exciting I know, but its nice to start fresh.  We also finally went to the eye doctor and the dentist.  Eye doctor...our prescriptions changed...so new contacts, glasses for me, glasses and sunglasses for Kyle.  This is also known as one expensive trip.  However, we also went to the dentist.  I love that clean feeling and when they tell me I do a good job at taking care of my teeth.  I better...me and dentists and teeth specialists have been friends for many years.  I do have to get a filling replaced...its just a very old one thats deteriorating but not my fault.

This weekend I made a meal for a family in the ward and they invited us over to eat it with them and to play games.  There had been a Relief Society activity where people signed up for service, and then got swapped around.  I had signed up to make dinner...hence making them dinner.  I made beef & broccoli, chicken lettuce wraps, fried rice, and dipping sauce.  All homemade...and I thought it was delicious.  

Saturday...oh we went to the base theater and watched Legends of Guardians: Owls of Ga'hool...or whatever that owl movie was called.  Cute flick.  Free for us, so even better.  This time it was perfect temperature, see blog post in July for how it was otherwise.  The only problem I had was the seats aren't too comfortable...and for some reason lately this is a problem.  

Kyle got Monday off, but I made him run errands with me.  He did get to play Starcraft II though and some Goldeneye at the times we weren't shopping for food or getting eyes checked and dilated.

So yep.  That's it.  No pictures.  Do you really want some of us going to Smith's or even Wal-amart?  Didn't think so.

Love Hate Relationship with Showers

This blog will have a small weekend update, but then will also be a thoughts and asking for some answers type of post.

It was a pretty chill weekend which was nice because somehow Kyle was still needed to regain sleep and rest from our vacation to Vegas.  Saturday though I did get to torture him with some baby shopping.  Buahahaha.  We actually didn't buy anything and I did well at keeping to just what I came there for.  Our first stop was a place called Kid To Kid.  It's a 2nd hand kid store, and is pretty awesome.  I found a diaper bag, which looks more like a duffle bag.  Anyways, it'll have plenty of storage (great for the trips to Vegas), although its just gray so kind of boring looking.  Maybe I'll try to fix that.  After the thrift shop we had errands at Target.  So we just quickly glanced at the baby section.  It was full of mothers, toddlers, and baby strollers so we didn't browse long. 

Next for the real reason of this trip.  Stroller shopping!  I've been researching two things mainly for the baby.  Strollers/car seats and cloth diapers.  The stroller though is something I definitely needed to see in person, touch, collapse, and get the feel of it before I invest that much money into it.  Well...I liked it.  And so did Kyle.  Now I just actually have to buy it and figure out where to store it.  But if you're wondering what I plan on getting it's this one:

So anyways, to the part where I just have thoughts and questions.  Baby Showers.  I'm going to be having a little one the next time Kyle and I visit Las Vegas.  I like baby showers, but there's always things that I worry or wonder about. 

First off is who to invite?  Obviously the family members who live nearby and the friends who I still keep frequent contact with.  The question I always have is there other people to invite too?  I'm not the type of chick who invites everyone I've ever met, but  I also don't like to exclude people if they want to come and i do like to see people.  Reading minds is not my forte, people being blunt and honest with me is the way I like to roll.  So living so far away from people, and not seeing people from down there at all I've been wondering who.  I won't worry about it too much and just stick to those I know unless I find out otherwise.

Next is a combination question...what do I get for my baby and put on my registry?  I don't like to shop or get lots of non-useful items.  Also, the kid gets a very tiny section in his room.  Like only 5 feet by 10 feet for all the furniture and stuff.  The only large furniture will be a crib, and dresser or some type of shelf storage.  But I still wonder what else would I need and what all to put on the registry.  I finally just made a Babies 'R' Us one and put the items I could think of.  However, they don't have everything or have expensive items.  So I think I'll make a Target one too.  Also, for little things I don't feel picky about brand or type but I hate how you need to pick on or two because just putting all the pacifiers and toys that there are on the registry doesn't make sense.  Any guidance on this topic from ya'll I would like.  Not just moms either, because everyone has had to deal with showers, gifts, lists and all the schtuph before.

Rest of the Week, NYE & Anni.

So...I think I wrote last time all the way up to Friday which is New Years Eve.  This part of the trip I'm sorry doesn't have any pictures.

The morning started off with my mom helping me with the next steps of the quilt.  Since I have a machine quilter on my sewing machine at home, I plan on just stitching not tying the quilt.  However, to transport it and bind it we did a quick basting of it together.  During this I found out a few parts I had missed and had to redo some stuff.  Now it's up to me to stitch, and then learn how to bind it.

Eventually, we left my parents house to spend the rest of the time with the Hansens.  My parents don't stay up, and my sister was going to a YSA dance so there wasn't too much of a point to stay there.

The girls drove to the Fashion Show Mall to try and get a makeover thing done by Bare Essentials.  Traffic was...a little crazy and so was the mall.  The people weren't able to take us, but we had fun just looking around and going into a few stores.

At the Hansens there was a yummy dinner.  Then some game playing.  A new one called Scrabble Slam.  They seemed to like that one.  We played Bang! with them.  Most are not fans or pay too much attention, unlike my family who gets into it.  After that we tested out another one called Guillotine.  Interesting, simple and fun, yet disturbing at the same time.  The point of the game is to collect nobles, who's head you chop off.  The new year was rung in by us watching the Strip fireworks on the TV.  We even ran outside quickly to see if we could actually see them...but it was too cold without shoes and a jacket to give it a chance.

Saturday morning we eventually woke up, packed up the car, and drove home.  It was definitely time to leave.  With all the late staying up, not my bed, and other things I was ready to go home and relax.  It felt so nice once we actually got home.

Well Sunday now was our 2 year anniversary!!  Woot woot!  We had a fancy dinner of leftover chili, but had a nice bottle of sparkling juice to go with it.  Monday though was the celebration.  We've decided to not get each other anniversary gifts, and instead treat ourselves to a nice restaurant.  This year we chose Outback.  It was really good.

That sums up the exciting adventures that we did over the past week and a half.  Now if your wondering if I got fat over Christmas the answer is: not too much.  However, I think I have past the point where people do stop wondering if I'm just a little chunky or actually pregnant.

Christmas weekend/week

So I didn't have time on Wednesday to tell all about our Christmas.  It was a hectic vacation which makes for a longer but interesting post.

We drove down to Vegas on the Thursday before Christmas.  Comparatively to our trip back up from Thanksgiving this one was wonderful.  The only issue was some really dense patches of fog.  When we arrived we had some fun news to give to our families.  Even though they had all been asking when, we had kept it a secret that our appointment for an ultrasound would happen right before Christmas.  So what is it....

After telling the families a few of us friends were getting together.  This group was the main set of friends who participated in a tradition we had in college called Monday Night Dinners.  Even though it was on a Thursday, we had a dinner and then participated in a little white elephant gift exchange.  This was the funniest part of the evening.  Every other gift opened was...a Nerf gun.  That came to a total of 6+ guns and ammo.  Because of this coincidence of amazingness the guys participated in a Nerf battle.  6 guns wasn't enough, so they even ran to Wal-mart on the Eve of Christmas Eve to buy more guns and ammo.  Crazy guys.  The females instead participated in making shapes out of flexi-straws and just talking.

Christmas Eve morning was spent pretty relaxful with my family.  We just played a few games.

The Christmas Eve portion was to be spent with the Hansen household.  It was quite a crazy and hectic few hours before everyone sat down for dinner.  There was cleaning/picking up the house, setting a table and cooking for 16 people, and oh so much else going on.  At the end of this hecticness we also went caroling to a few neighbors' houses.

Dinner was great though, and it was an enjoyable evening celebrating the birth of our Savior.

Christmas morning came at my parents' house.  Since there are no little kids we got to at least sleep in until 7. Then we unwrapped the presents that were there fairly quickly.  Between Kyle and I we got: a bathrobe, Carcassone board game, Dominion Intrigue, Burt's Bees Baby set, a crocheted baby hat, Goldeneye, Star Wars comic book, a gift card and a large blanket.

During the middle of the morning we quickly drove to the Hansens to talk to Tyler.  It's his last call before he comes home in 1.5 months!

We returned back to my parents and played our new board games.  My dad made a delicious lunch and my Grandma Thompson was able to stop by and eat it with us.  After that...we went back over to the Hansens for their part of spending Christmas with us.  First up we opened our gifts.  There was a bunch so I won't name them all but some of the big ones were: a heated blanket, Skookies, a picnic set, some car stuff, and a few gift cards to restaurants.  Later that evening we headed over to Audrey's boyfriend, Mychal's, baptism.  Pop Hansen was the one who baptized him, Mama Hansen gave a talk, and Audrey even did a musical number.

The rest of Christmas was spent playing games and watching shows.

Sunday we decided to spend it just with one family, and it ended up being mine because of a few family things already planned.  My cousin and her cousin were going to bless their babies at my aunt and uncles house, so we went over there after church.  We took their family pictures, and the smaller family pictures too.  I learned how difficult taking pictures of toddlers can be.  Finally monster trucks is what was able to make the boys at least look happier in them.  Here's the main picture.  I'm going to post the other ones that I took, and tried fancy editing on and put them on my other blog.

Monday was now to be spent at the Hansens.  We got over there and most of the were painting the exterior of the addition.  Kyle instead started to do an overhaul on their desktop computer.  In the afternoon the boys then just played Goldeneye for like 3 or more hours straight.  We didn't spend that night with them though, because there were other plans.  Nerf battle 2.  This time a few more people were invited, and it was specifically a nerf battle night.  Even us girls got involved and brought our own guns.  It was pretty fun, but being pregnant limited my sneakiness.  No crawling or laying on the stomach, and it was just harder to jump over stuff in general.  It was fun though.  After I died during the rounds I tried to take a few pictures.

Well the next day (Tuesday) was again at the Hansens.  This time Kyle did get to help with the painting, as I finished the overhaul of the computer.  While the guys again played video games, Danielle and I went fabric shopping.  Nothing much other than that.  Later that night Kyle and I stopped off at In 'N' Out for some dinner, then headed to my cousins' the Waldron's house for a game night.  Here we got to show Carcassonne, and played a 8 player game of Bang where all but 1 knew how to play.  It's a lot more fun that way.

Wednesday...this was sewing day at my family's.  While I started to make a cute baby quilt, Kyle was trying to fix another computer.

I took a break that evening.  We went to Fry's to check out some parts for the computer Kyle is fixing.  Then I got a haircut.  And then we got to eat Chipotle with friends!  That's two great things in one.  

Thursday went similar.  Me sewing, Kyle on the computer and doing his own things.  However, I got the top part finished on the quilt.  Here it is:
