Vegas Wedding

So this weekend we had another trip to Vegas!  That's 2 in less than a month.  One of Kyle's good friends from high school was getting married to a previous neighbor of ours.  Kyle was asked to be a groomsman.

We like to think that we helped this couple get together.  We don't take credit for setting them up since we didn't.  We take credit for being a topic that helped them talk and get to know each other better. Sounds strange, but here's the brief story.  They met at Stoney's one night.  Mike was talking to Candace, and she mentioned that she lived near UNLV.  Now we had just moved there, and had met Candace a few times at our weekly community dinners.  Mike knew that Kyle had moved in the UNLV area.  So he mentioned that his friend Kyle and his wife Whitney had just moved by UNLV too.  Candace said that she knew us from the dinners...and BAM!  they started dating. :)

Anyways, after a long drive down Friday we picked up the tux and got to the rehearsal.  Afterwards, we went over to the Hansens and just enjoyed time over there.  Saturday we played games with my family.  Then in the afternoon went to the Hansen's to help because Grandma's TV Ears weren't working.  It is a strange hookup with the TV ears, and had a lot of downsides.  After a run to Best Buy and Kyle taking some time we have made the TV ears work with everything!  Woot woot!

After that fun stuff, was now the wedding.  Kyle had to get there 2 hours early because of pictures and just have to be there early.  Well I volunteered to help set up and decorate.  So that's how the 2 hours passed.  Now for the wedding.

I took a few pictures before the wedding, but didn't bring it to the ceremony or take any of Kyle and I.  How lame is that?  Very, and I regret it now.  But I can't change it.

Where the ceremony was held, flowers on the center aisle, and the new happy Mr. & Mrs. McDonald

Well the weekend had to come to an end.  So on Sunday we endured another 8 hour drive back up.  I did manage to snag a picture with my family before we left.

P90X is OVER!

So this Saturday concluded our last P90X workout!  This also means we got to take our final measurements and pictures. P90X was a love/hate relationship.  We loved how we felt after each one, but they did take up a lot of time.  That was Kyle's main complaint.  He would come home after a 9 hour day and have to work out for 1.5 hours...so his whole afternoon/evening was now gone.  The weight lifting exercises weren't my favorite.  Yoga X was very intense.  Kenpo was both of our favorite.  That's like a karate cardio kickboxing one.

Now for the results though:

Kyle

Before
After
Changes:
Weight: -4.5 lbs
Chest: -2.75"
Waist: -4"
Gut: -2.5"
Hips: -1.5"
Sitting Touch Touch: +4"

Whitney
Before

After
Changes:
Weight: -1 lb
Chest: -1/2"
Waist: -1"
Gut: 0"
Hips: -1.5"
Sitting Toe Touch: +2"
Also notice in the after pictures that I have a small muscle cut in my arms. :)

As you notice Kyle lost more of everything.  Part of this is that he plays 3 hours of soccer a week on top of this.  So the extra workout helped burn more.  Also, although I didn't lose much weight or measurements I gained a whole lot of muscle, which weighs more than fat, and gained more flexibility.  Like in the sitting toe touch this is where both legs are straight in front of you with feet flexed.  My after measurement was +3".  That's 3" past my toes.  After a session of yoga I can actually do 4+ inches.  So those are my achievements that can't really be measured out.

I loved it, but am definitely ready for a break.  Just trying to do some walks now and slowly work up to jogging.

Halloween is a coming

Labor day weekend came and went.  We didn't spend it quite exciting because of something that happened Thursday night.

Kyle got sick.

He got home from work and said he didn't feel good, that his head was very weird feeling.  I just thought maybe he was dehydrated or tired.  Then he complained he was cold and didn't want dinner.  Because of these, I knew he was actually sick.  He was also burning a fever.  By morning the fever had broke but still didn't feel good.  He went to work for 2 hours and took the rest of Friday off.  Then...Friday night I started not feeling good and was warm.  No fever though.  So...we both just chilled Friday and Saturday.

Sunday we had both recovered and enjoyed the day of rest.  Monday we took to taking a walk in the beautiful fall weather, than ran a few errands in ogden, and went to the $3 theater.  It was nice just having that extra day so it didn't feel like our whole weekend went to the sickness...whatever it was we had.

As to the title of this post....some of our errands were to buy Halloween costume stuff!  We're being complete dorks and being a video game couple.  How nerdy are we?  Many people might not know who we are or think we are strange beyond anything, but I'm excited to just have fun with it.

What are we planning???
Kyle will be Link & I will be Zelda.  Dorky no?
Anyways, if you don't know who they are then here's some pictures:

We found Kyle the green tunic already, and we both have swords.

Oh...and this year is not the end of our video game/nerd costumes.  We have planned what we are going to be for when we have kids.  Good thing they don't have opinions or egos when they are tiny.  Muahaha!

Nothing Too Exciting

Wow, I totally missed that Wednesday was yesterday.  When everyday of the week is the same, it just blurs together.  Doing this whole blog writing thing has been a great way to do like a little mini journal for me, and also allow people to know what we're doing.  This is my 50th post...that means in 2 more posts I will have done it for a whole year.  I am very proud of myself because I think the longest I was ever able to keep a consistent journal was like 2 months.

Obviously, this past weekend wasn't near as exciting as the Vegas one because I forgot to even mention it.  The previous post took all my power to wait until the Wednesday.  Anyways, I'll try to recall what we did.

Oh...my mom was up here.  Since my sister started school again, my mom had driven her up to BYU.  Then she went to visit my aunt in Roy (like 15 minutes away) and help her out.  On Friday though they invited me to come with them.  We went up to Ogden and did many errands.  We ate at Yu's Maple Garden.
I used to eat there when we visited my aunt when I was little.  It was just as I remembered and just as good.  MMMMmmmm, Chinese food.  I was a very nice wife, and saved half of my entire meal (wontons, fortune cookie, and Schezwan chicken) for Kyle.  After lunch we went to a Bosch kitchen store where I have a guacamole & salsa class next week.  They showed me the really large Jo-Ann's.  Went to walmart and a heath food store.  It was nice being out of the house and spending time with my mom.

Saturday was kind of a lazy day.  I know thats pretty much every one of my days, but with Kyle there it makes all the difference.  We did clean the house up because....Kyle BUG SPRAYED!!!! Hooray! He did everywhere, while I sat outside to avoid the fumes and toxins.  While it was drying and such we checked out the local mall.  It was a decent sized mall.  Only two of the large stores, and was basically filled with the mall staple stores. It did have a Deseret Book though.  So yeah, after hanging around there for a while we went home and played World of Goo on the Wii.

That was the weekened.  Very exciting...I know.
