Results...

He kicked.  He clawed.  He...did it!!  At my weekly appointment on Monday the ultrasound showed that little baby Hansen had finally turned.  This was such a HUGE relief.  The whole week had me trying many different positions, just trying to give him the room to turn.  We had also fasted for him to turn and for the next few weeks to go well.  Now we just have to wait until he comes.

A post or two back I talked about how we finished setting up the baby's room.  Well I finally took pictures of it.  So for your viewing pleasure since most people won't get to see our house...here is his corner of the room.

This past week I obliged Kyle in another one of the things he's been wanting for over a year.  An ice cream maker.  This investment has been awesome so far.  We made vanilla with nesquick, and also a batch of strawberry freezer jam vanilla ice cream.  Tonight...peanut butter ice cream topped with chocolate.  MMmmmmMMmm.  I like it too because it doesn't make a whole lot at once.  So we just get ourselves a little cup of it.  Then save the rest.  The leftovers definitely don't go to waste.  I'm excited to also try and make fro-yo and some sorbet with it.

Like most weekends it was nothing exciting.  We did watch Harry Potter 7 pt. 1 on Base. 
On Tuesday night I went to SLC to go to the General Relief Society Training.  It was held in the Tabernacle, was very spiritual and great to hear.  However...those are some hard benches to sit on for 2.5 hours.  They did give us one break, but was less than a minute.  I did sit on the end though so I was constantly moving around and of course brought snacks.  Without this, I might have died.

Well...only 2.5 more weeks.  19 Days, until the due date.  The check out lady at Walmart said I looked like I was about to pop.  I'll let you see and judge for yourself.

Turn, Turn, Turn

Such a good weekend.  I finished my sewing projects!  The main one was that cute quilt.  I had quilted it on my sewing machine, but still needed to bind it.  I've never done this part before, and I had heard it was quite difficult.  I mean you have to hand sew portions of it.  Eeek.  On one of Kyle's StarCraft playing nights I just set my mind to do it, and by the end of the next day I finished it!  Here is is:

Friday night we had the monthly cousin game night.  It'll probably be the last one for us for a little while.  This evening we got to see Trevor and Danielle again, and they were able to bring up my sister Melynn.  We played some Bang!, Scum and Monopoly Deal.  I had never played Scum before, but I liked it.  I started off as the Scum, but eventually became middle class.

On Saturday Kyle got to go help clean the church.  Supposedly while he was cleaning there I was supposed to be cleaning at home.  Supposedly.  We did take a little lunch date though to a Mexican restaurant.  We had been to this place before and I remember it being okay.  Not like horrible food, but not great.  Well Kyle thought that was just because of his selection of food last time.  So for the past year and at least once a week Kyle would mention that he wanted to go.  I finally gave in.  Same results as last time, and this time Kyle actually believed me.  The food wasn't anything I couldn't make at home, and definitely wasn't to par like some of the Vegas Mexican restaurants.  We'll be needing to find a better Mexican place.  However, I also got to watch a chick flick that night.  It had been a while.  That was our weekend., but definitely not the rest of some interesting news.

Monday I had my 36 week checkup (less than 4 weeks to go).  While there the doctor got concerned because I was measuring too small, and did an unplanned ultrasound.  She thought maybe there wasn't enough fluid.  The ultrasound showed there was enough, and that he's healthy and 6.5 pounds already.  Doctor joked that he definitely won't be a small one.  There is an issue though.  The baby hasn't turned into position, and so is labeled as breech right now.  I had noticed that he liked to be directly across pushing me wide, have his head tucked in my ribs, or do many flips.  Didn't realize that by this point that's not always the best.  The doctor said she'd give him one week to turn otherwise I'll be looking at some options of when and how to deliver.  So we're praying and hoping he will by that time.  I definitely am happy though that's he's safe and healthy, just don't want the options the doctor said.

 Also...Kyle has finally heard back from the University of Utah.  He had applied to the Computer Science program for his masters, but hadn't heard anything back...and you have to get approved by the department before you apply to the school.  Getting accepted is very important for the training program he's doing with work.  He was getting a little worried, but this morning we got the good news.  So it looks like coming this fall Kyle will be a Ute.

Nursery Prepping...2nd try

The crib is all together!!!  It's placed in its little corner along with a dresser and shelf.  I also was a little crafty (and cheap) so I made my own decorations.  I just drew safari animals on paper and stuck them in dollar store frames.  The theme of the kid's area accidentally became jungle/safari.  I had already partly made a quilt around Christmas time that had safari print on it.  That was just because I liked it and found cute patterns to go with the main one.  Then throughout the baby shower almost all the clothes, blankets or other items had to deal with some sort of jungle or safari animal.  So because of that I just decided to roll with it.  I won't take a picture of the final product until we get a mattress put in there.  It arrived today at JCP, so hopefully this weekend it'll be in place. 

Now...only 4.5 weeks until the due date.  I think each morning when I look down my belly has grown like another inch.  Also, the baby loves to just shove his back straight out to the front and stretch it out.  Not so fun for me.

Well enough about that baby stuff.  Friday night I was kind of a slacker.  We had planned to go to the temple, but at the last minute I backed out.  I wanted to go and feel the spirit, and be in the Ogden temple the way it is for one last time.  It closes on April 2nd for a MAJOR renovation.  However, the thought of not being able to go to the bathroom for at least 2.5 hours was what made me change my mind.  It is funny how this is a major concern.  Instead of going to the temple we ran errands, picked up the crib (again), and put the nursery all together.  It was still productive.

On Saturday Kyle had his last torturing of baby classes.  He got to go learn about breastfeeding.  The teacher was at least funny, and informative.  And I was lucky that other guys showed up because for the first little while Kyle was giving me a "did I really have to come to this" and "you owe me" look.  We then had an awesome afternoon because Trevor & Danielle came up to visit.  We didn't do too much exciting stuff.  Played some Wii games.  I failed at cooking a fritata (italian egg pie thing), but ate good desserts.  And we also just chilled and talked.  They even stayed the night with us.  That was the main part of our weekend.

 Spring seems to slowly be coming.  Sunday was such a beautiful warm 60 degrees.  Today is cloudy and not warm, but still above freezing...so I'm happy.  I just love the 60 degrees and warm sun on my skin.  Can't wait.  Especially for stuff to be on trees again too.

Prepping the Nursery

So on Friday night Kyle and I finally started to do fix up the area for the baby.  Many people probably have had this done for a while for their kid...months and weeks.  I just wasn't feeling that decorate and get everything just right for the baby.  I'm slowly feeling that way.  First we had to clean up the area.

We then started putting the crib together.  But then a bolt was missing.  And then we found a hole was stripped on the spring mattress frame.  Putting the room together has now been suspended until a further date.  Good thing there's still 5.5 weeks.

Well, on Saturday Kyle and I went to another free show on base.  Before though we took a mile walk on a walking path.  Not so pretty right now, but in the spring/summer the walk will be pretty.

After watching Megamind...I had convinced Caryn to take pictures of me and Kyle.  Self timer and a tripod can only get you so far.  I've been a bit lazy though and didn't edit them yet.  So I've done some quick edits on just a few.  I'll post the finals and the entire set on my photography website.  It was fun though.  Kyle and I were just goofing off for the most part.  Gracias Caryn.

And that pretty much concludes the weekend.  I'm still feeling good.  Just achy body and what other feelings you get for lugging a watermelon thing around.  But I do walks still and do some exercises to still stay feeling better.  Weird to think only 5.5 weeks until the due date.

Snow & School

The weekend started off good.  Had a fun date night.  Because I found an awesome coupon, we went and drove to Chipotle.  It was pretty funny because almost everyone else inside Chipotle that night also had the coupon too.  When it's a buy one get one free though, you got to use it.  After eating delicious tacos, chips and guacamole we watched the movie RED at home.  It was actually a good action flick.  Plot moved, no sex, and they didn't make it dark and twisted.  Also...between chipotle and the movie we picked something up from JC Penney's.  A CRIB!  Ahhh just one more thing to tell us its pretty close.  I actually got a sweet deal for being a brand new crib.  The crib and the mattress were less than 150 total.

Well...friday night and a little into saturday morning it snowed.  That's what it does up here.  Can't wait for a little warmer weather and just green grass and trees.  Just hate having to zip up my extremely tight snow jacket when i want to go outside. Well anyways...Kyle was super excited.  Ever since the giant snowpeople he's been wanting to make some sort of snow beast.  So we went an played outside.  Except he found out it was too dry of snow to do any compacting.  Instead he shaped out a beast of some sort.

Well that was the most exciting part of the rest of the weekend.  On Tuesday though I finally went back to help out at the school.  I had missed 2 weeks.  The first week from being out of town and then having lots of errands and chores.  The 2nd week was because I was sick.  Well it was nice to do the little walk there and some of the kids were excited I was back.  It was fun to read and help them out again.  I'll miss them when the kid comes, but it has taught me so much.
