So first the sad news. My computer has almost died. It had gotten to where the battery no longer held a charge, the cord could no longer charge it up, and then the cord had to be in the most PERFECT spot in order to not die. Well I moved it slightly...and then that perfect spot went away. So before it could completely die I shut it down and haven't turned it on again. Hopefully a new cord will give it some life, but at least my stuff is backed up. It has a problem with cords, this will be the 4th one in 3 years. I at least was able to break out my old laptop.

This weekend I got Kyle back...kind of. He was mostly caught up with some projects so he was nice and hung out with us a bit more. We rented a movie and ate some ice cream. Moose Tracks is my downfall. Saturday was filled with helping with church stuff. The Relief Society Broadcast was that night and even though they show it on air, I wanted to go to the stake center to watch it. Bond with sisters, and have Kyle bond with Dak. I LOVED IT! The speakers and talks that is, although the reasons for going were great too. If you didn't hear their talks, especially Pres. Uchtdorf's, then watch it. He was so frank about what women do, and he suggested ways we should change. It really hit me. Like how we think of other people as perfect, and compare ourselves to these "perfect" people but no one is perfect. I did have to quickly walk out of the building after. They were passing out donuts and they smelled really good.

Over the weekend I came to the realization that my box of pears was ripening. I had ordered a box of pears, a 40 lb. box! On Monday this box was all ripe. So I pureed, and pureed. Made some fruit leathers in my oven, and froze some to be baby food. This only got rid of half of them. I've borrowed a canner, and this weekend will learn how that stuff works. They are super delicious though and I try to eat them all the time.

I am excited about October. U of U has a thing called Fall Break. A full week off of school! We have some fun plans, but he also has a few projects due right before and right after. So he'll also be busy right up to and through it.
It's become fall here and I LOVE IT! Oh cool mornings, warm afternoons, leaves are kind of starting to change but not much, and holidays just around the corner. Walks are a lot easier to go on when it is so nice outside and you don't have to wait for the evening. The only problem with fall I find is the gnats. There's certain places while I walk that I feel like I'm inhaling bugs. Nasty stuff.

Fall also means that it's volleyball season at our stake. I dragged Kyle because he needed a break from homework. We left Dexter on the stage and those who subbed out watched him. It was fun, but definitely not up to high school intensity. Of course...I'm way off what I was too. It was fun to get out and get sweaty. Saturday morning was beautiful and I convinced Kyle to pack up the stroller and drive to a bike path. Here I jogged/walked and Kyle jogged ahead. Dexter thought is was funny as I jogged. Maybe it was fun to go faster, or maybe he was laughing at my hard breathing. Hopefully on Saturdays up until that first snow (shudder) we'll be able to go as a family. Sometimes when doing errands, or hauling the stroller, and making our long drives to Vegas I do wish for a larger second car. One day though when it's needed.

Saturday also had a work BBQ (Kyle's of course...since I don't work). It was fine. Food functions are harder for me, but I was able to still eat. Instead of an entire burger you skip the bun. Instead of all the pasta salads...you um just skip them as well as skipping all dessert. The house where it was at was cool. Kyle and I discussed awesome things that we want at our future house (still 2 years away). Dak loved just laying on the trampoline and being softly bounced and having a head full of static hair.

Saturday night I also got a date...Friday was Kyle doing school work so no date there. We just rented a movie and ate Moose Tracks. They're fudge is just so good.

Monday nothing too notable. I did get to stand in a parking lot for over an hour waiting for a box of pears. 40 lbs of pears that eventually I have to do stuff with. Plan on making baby food, fruit leathers, eating them of course, and if any extra learn how to can. I was worried they'd come ripe and have to be made instantly...but they said that's still a couple of weeks away. Phew.

Wow between last week and this week is like night and day. You could definitely tell he is happy to be over that teething, and loves sucking on his new teeth. He also still loves to grab your hand, jam it in his mouth, and bite as hard as he can. It used to be cute with just the gummies...but those little teeth are sharp.

I've also get to witness the rolling over a lot more. He does it like all the time now. Getting closer to rolling from front to back. And I have a feeling once he figures that out he'll be a little rolling machine everywhere. Dex has also shown a lot of almost crawling. He just has to coordinate getting the hands and butt up at the same time.
On Saturday we were excited to go down to Provo. We stopped off at Melynn's place and she loved holding and playing with D-Man. After picking up some pizza (to Kyle this was exciting) we went to Trevor and Danielle's place to chill. So why excited about the pizza? Well since I can't eat wheat (which is in pizza dough) we don't eat pizza nearly as much. So with someone else to help him finish it off, I decided Kyle could have it and share with his brother. Oh he was in heaven. The boys played some video games. Danielle and I talked. Little Dex just liked playing by himself on the lovesac or being held by his aunt or uncle.

The main reason for the trip though was a mission companions of Kyle's was having a reception in Mapleton...it's near Provo. Since we didn't know anyone we didn't stay long. And Kyle spilling and tripping everywhere helped him hurry out faster.

This week Dexter also had his first playdate. There's a sister in the ward who's son is only 6 weeks younger than Dexter. Her husband also goes to school and works, so we went over there for a while. The two little ones can't really play with each other. Dak was showing off his rolling and pushups and everything else. 6 weeks makes a large difference right now but soon they'll be able to have fun together.

Since Dexter can roll and scooch everytime we get him from the crib he's in a funky position. He'll be leaning against the slats, he'll be completely sideways, and always rolled over too.

We finally got some furniture for our living room. It makes it a lot nicer looking and get those cords and other things off the floor before the little guy can get to them.

So this is kind of nerdy to get excited over but my fabric came in this week. It looks so awesome in person. 3 of the pieces came on rolls, while the rest were cut and folded in the box, and I had no idea why. When I measured them they gave me the extra from the roll. I got between 3 and 10 inches of extra fabric. I thought it was pretty sweet saying I also got them 60% off. Now...it will be a while until I get time to make all that I want. But I'm excited.
Oh the clip below is mainly for grandparents cause they like to hear his cute sounds. This is what happens when he's tired and we put him in the swing. We compare it to a battery dying but still trying to chug through....if you can understand that.
So remember last week and that stinky day? Well...it turned into stinky week. He was just so crabby, would scream a ton. His eating and sleeping habits changed too. There were cute moments when he wanted to cuddle, but were usually very short moments. It took us until Sunday to figure out what was causing it.

Kyle had put his finger in the Dak's mouth because for the last couple months he just loves to chew on them. This time an "ow" came from Kyle as he noticed a tiny sharp object protruding from Dak's gums. He had cut his first tooth. The one next to it looked like it'd be coming soon. It didn't happen until this morning. Hopefully this means the LONG week is over. He's very dramatic with it, but we found a mix of oils to put on it. It makes him pretty happy...except for the taste. And I don't blame him. I have a bad, traumatizing experience with clove oil...but i do know it works to help. Unfortunately it took me until Monday afternoon to go pick up something. I tried to take a picture of his teeth, but since they're small and he's wiggly all you notice is blurry pink stuff. I did manage to snag a video of me giving him the oil. The first times were the funniest, but I didn't think of it then. So these are him after a while, still showing his dislike.
The weekend was filled with Kyle doing lots of homework and projects. And when he does lots of homework, then its just lots of me and Dexter time. We did get some cafe rio for our date friday night and watched a movie at home. Also, I got Kyle to go to SLC's Extreme Yard Sale saturday morning. There was quite a few people selling things however, it was mainly crafts, collectibles, and decorations. But it was a beautiful morning, and a nice park. I was just happy to get outside and do something with our little family.

Soon also I'll start to really have to keep my house picked up. We know he can roll over, although almost everytime it's when we're not watching. But now...he can pivot around. He can scooch on his back slowly to places. And yesterday we noticed he can advance forward. Not crawling, but somehow scooches his body forward with random kicks and grabs. He can almost roll back to front. I'm not ready for the almost 5 month old to move around.

That's it this week. Not too much rambling. I'm just hoping that his pain will soon leave, so that Dex can have better days. I'm sure it wasn't fun for him either.
