CAT woman

So last Friday for two of my college classes we went on a field trip.  No it wasn't to the zoo, planetarium or anything like that...it was to the local CAT dealership.  CAT (or technically Caterpillar) are the large yellow and black construction equipment that used to be seen everywhere.  We went there because of my Heavy Equipment class where we learn ALL about those things.  At first it was kind of exciting.  These machines are huge!  It was a long field trip of just walking and staring at similar machines so by the end of the trip I was tired and done.  However, I got to take a lot of pictures.  I tried to be more creative about the shots and lighting.  So here's a sampling below.

Here's one of the larger loaders with my teacher by the tire.

This is a bulldozer.  This is eye level shot.

The blue turned out pretty against the black and yellow.
Three scrapers, and below is a side view of a scraper.

Me out in the equipment yard.  Note: this picture was taken at the very end of the field trip..hence the tired face and body.

The largest scraper that there is.  That yellow scraper at the bottom is 24 feet long.  I probably only come up to the top of the rim on this giant machine.  This also is my favorite picture because of the beautiful sky behind.

To end all the picture telling with is dump trucks.

  2. I'm in the heavy equipment cause I'm studying construction management. We learn a lot about soil and roads, along with buildings.
