Spring Break Trip - with all the Thompsons

The Hansen's got one more time with us before it was time to switch to my family's time.
Zoned out

They love books
Kyle and Tyler stayed up late playing video games.  The kids enjoyed reading and time with the grandparents.
Friday morning we met up with my family at the Smith Performing Arts Center to take some family pictures.  The kids loved running around the colorful tubes while we set it up.
My parents were my stand-ins

Making sure the remote works

Our little family

We like each other

Trying to get wiggly ones for a photo

Almost there...

This was the best we could get

They liked playing with each other

The blonde hair runs in my family...can you tell?

GG & Papa

My cute little guy

These tubes were almost as good as a park

Ellie even was having fun in the chase

And Melynn captured some great smiling photos of her

So beautiful!

Warmed up to Uncle Nate quick
We then drove to check out the Bellagio gardens.
Spring Japanese Festival

He liked looking at the fountains

She stuck to Dad with so many people around

Trying to get a nice photo of them....riiiight.

After which we drove to Sunset park.  My mom had watched Dexter play at this park while I took photos for Tyler and Sam.  Somehow, this park stuck in his memory.  Every time we went to a park in Utah, he would ask why this wasn't the park GG took him too.  I figured we needed to let this kid play at it one more time, and with his cousin too.
Picnic at the park

Swinging on the awesome swings with Aunt Min and Jane

Liked it by himself

Ellie helped push him
Ellie now wanted to join in

I love this park too
Although it had been really warm for Jake's wedding, by the time my brother came into town it had cooled off.  It was a little chilly to play in the water, and they only stayed in it for a short time.  Dexter technically never went in it, just ran around the outside of it.

After Sunset park, we stopped off at my Grandma's house.
Me with Grandma Carol

Dexter and Aunt Min
That concludes all the driving and busy stuff we did on Friday.  We got to my parent's house and just hung out for the rest of the day.
He crashed after such a fun time
The next day while Melynn took the Texas Thompsons to Red Rock, we took the kids to a park.  It was the perfect balance for the kids.  Ellie is a little daredevil and is scary when she's on a playground for bigger kids, but Dexter gets bored if it's just all the baby stuff.   This one was perfect.
Slides!

Slides...again!
When everyone got back we started the Easter celebrations.  Egg dying was first.  Ellie didn't care, and Dexter only cared about one egg getting done.  I got to take my time and decorate a few however I wanted. :)
At the beginning

She liked toys instead of dying eggs

My finished ones.  Can you tell which one is Dexters?  Hint...it has Star Wars stickers
Aunt Melynn hosted the Easter Egg Hunt.  Each kid had a different style of egg to hunt for.  Ellie's was metallic, Dexter had camo, and Jane had patterned.

They were ready to go!

I spy a few kinds of eggs

The shiny ones were the easiest ones

Ellie caught on quickly

This was one of the harder ones for him

Found one!
That pretty much concludes our trip to Vegas.  Everyone was exhausted by the time we got back home.
