September's Happenings

One day I walk outside and see a huge plume of fire. Behind those houses is just marshland of the Salt Lake. There was a large wildfire burning just 1 mile away.

The kids came out briefly to see all the ashes falling, then we went inside to the clean air.

Dexter started preschool! I can't believe he's that big. He's loving it though, and is making new friends and learning. Our neighbor and his friend across the street, goes to the same school as him.

He was really excited to start

Sleepy babies are so cute.

For the first month and a half, Flynn was a normal newborn and woke up throughout the night to eat. Sometimes though, at those 3 am eatings he also wanted to party.

Sometimes, I just finally get fed up with stuff and then bust out a craft. This one I was tired of all the pictures and invites on the fridge, that would fall off all the time. So I had seen boards with clothespins to put them on.

Ellie is at the terrible two's. She is a very independent, feisty, dramatic girl. Most days that is all good, and then we have those days.

However as she's getting more talkative and understanding, they're getting a little easier to work through.

Dexter got a new bike. His old little trike was getting usurped by Ellie, so we figured it was time for an upgrade. Dexter got to go on a special outing with dad. They got some ice cream and then got choose his bike. It's a Jake and the Neverland pirates bike, and then he chose the TMNT helmet.

Getting the hang of pedaling

Flynn had his two month checkup. His stats were:

Height: 24.5 in. - 91%

Weight: 13 lbs. 3.5 oz - 67%

Head: 16 in. - 86%

Little Big Brother

Dentist time! Dexter even got his teeth cleaned and did a great job.

A few friends in the ward had babies, so I made them some gifts. They got these, a little ball toy, and some chocolate for Mom.


The baby's name is Noah,.		He also is a "rainbow baby" because Noah was born after she lost her little girl to cancer.

The family uses butterflies to remember his amazing sister, so I drew one on the shoulder.

This family is a fan of Doctor Who.

I try to go on family walks when we can. Now with the bike Dexter rides, and the rest of us walk. Dexter usually stays with Ellie, and I stay with Flynn.
