May 2016

May started off busy and stayed that way.  There was lot so yard work and other things to catch up on after taking two big trips in April.

The first weekend started off with the Father and Son's camp out.  It rained again this year, as apparently it has the last 4 years.  However, Kyle and Dexter were better prepared with a waterproof tent, and choosing a better site for it.  They came home wet, but at least not soggy this time.

Sometimes I'm a creeper driving around and taking pictures of people's front yards.  I'm trying to work on improving mine so I need pictures of yards or of flowers I like.

Dexter graduated from preschool!  His teacher had her students do a presentation.  The kids sang songs, and had little speaking parts too.  Dexter rocked his speaking parts, but I'm pretty sure didn't sing very much except for the chorus of Baby Beluga.  All the kids knew that one.

On the last day of preschool they had a park day where they released the butterflies they had observed and taken care of in class.

April is the prime month for yard work, but we were gone.  So we needed to book it and work hard in May, even though it gets pretty warm.  All of our fruit trees died the first year we had the house, and there are no other trees in the backyard.  This means a really hot, no respite during the summer in the backyard. We set out to start remedying that this year.  We bought 3 yard trees, and three fruit trees.  Hopefully most of them will live.
