Grandma Hansen

Three days after we returned from our Vegas trip, Grandma Hansen passed away.  She had been in bad health for quite a while, completely bed ridden for a few years, and although sad was a blessing that she passed away.
She always knew how to smile for a picture

This was from when she first moved in with the Hansens

I first got to know her at my wedding, and then she shortly moved in with the Hansen's.  During my last summer and semesters of college, I would go over and help out.  She was a wonderful lady. We usually didn't see eye to eye during that time, since I pushed her to keep doing things, while she didn't want to.  At her funeral I heard many great stories about her.

We tried to teach her Wii tennis to keep up her movement

We decided for everyone to go down to the funeral, in La Mirada (near L.A.).  We prepared for this 24 hours of driving that we'd be doing in just 4.5 days.
Got new headphones

Playing with them

Snacks and more snacks
We left Wednesday night and drove to Vegas for a stop.
Using the tablet for some entertainment

A sight we hadn't seen in a while, driving into Vegas at night
The next afternoon we continued into La Mirada, and got to stop off at Grandma's old house (where Kyle's cousin's family lives) to visit with family.
Currently a happy traveler

Snuggled up with blankies

We're getting close when you see that

California was in gorgeous bloom

Took a walk to stretch out
We stayed overnight in a hotel, and the kids loved that.  Dexter is a wiggly sleeper and in the middle of the night rolled and crashed off the bed.  Thankfully it didn't disturb everyone else too much.
No naps and late nights, made him keep falling asleep everywhere
Friday morning was her funeral, and was a lovely tribute from her kids and grandkids about her life.  After the luncheon, our family headed to a park to eventually meet up with the others.
La Mirada Park

He was good and happy, even though EXTREMELY tired

They played parachute, and afterwards it was tackle Uncle Jake time

They got him covered

Lots of family just gathered round

Dexter actually climbed to the top...Hooray!!
After park time we drove back to Grandma Hansen's old house and visited some more.
The two babies...asleep

He just enjoyed playing with all the new toys
Eventually we left, and this time we drove to Aunt Suzie's house.
We hit hardly any of the normal California traffic...so blessed

We tucked them in and they promptly passed out.

Love how Flynn went from snuggled up, to sprawled out
Th next morning we did the short 4 hour drive back to Vegas, and Nub Nub even got to join us on this leg of the trip.  We helped her move some stuff around in Grandma's old room.
Flynn LOVES vacuums
On Sunday we left to finally go home, and just pretty much crash for a few days.  40 hours of driving in a 3 week period with three littles was enough for me.
So tired and ready to be home

Kyle drove all the times...thanks!
