2 dates - 1 weekend

The weekend before Christmas is always a busy one with getting ready for Christmas and travelling.

This year though we took it to a whole new fun and busy.  On Wednesday, I received a strange email saying I had won tickets to Star Wars: Rogue One but they hadn't heard a response yet.

WHAT?!  Free tickets!  I had entered the contest on Facebook back at the beginning of November.  The showing was for Friday night.  I start calling Young Women in my ward hoping that someone is available.  After 5 girls later, someone could make it!!!

It was a private screening hosted through my bank and was lots of fun to go.  The X-Wing picture earned us both $5 gift cards for the cinema.  Score!!
We dressed up for the occasion.
Now, for Saturday night we had had a date night scheduled for a while.  Aunt Jana had invited us to go see Savior of the World with her.
Being the last Saturday before Christmas....parking in downtown SLC is a nightmare.  Everything down there is SO crowded.  We decided to take the train.  The only downside...it was 17 degrees (without windchill).  Brrrrr.

We thought it'd be fun to eat downtown, big mistake.  All the nice-ish restaurants had a 3 hour wait.  The fast food court was so packed people were eating in the hallways and staircases.  After our dinner, we walked around temple square until time for the performance.
Many layers and super bundled up because it was soooooo cold.
Aunt Jana had the tickets.  They were later than planned because the highway from Las Vegas to SLC had been shut down for a few hours.  Then the parking was hard to find.  We barely squeaked in before it started.  After it we left quickly for the train back, and had to wait a long time in the cold for it to arrive.  They're only every hour.   Although we froze our toes and butts off with below freezing temps, it was a fun date.
