Crazy Springtime

My sister Melynn came to visit this past Friday.  She took Dexter to the Treehouse Museum and to Costco.  He had lots of fun with her.  While she was playing with him, this little girl snuggled up to me.  We got a good hour of napping and snuggling in.

It was so warm and snuggly with her
Then when Kyle got home we watched FROZEN!  Since we didn't see it in theaters, Melynn brought her new copy over. Dexter got bored unless the snowman or reindeer were on the screen, but we enjoyed it.  She even watched the kids so that Kyle and I could have a date later that night.  We went to Savers to buy me some pants, and then to Home Depot.

At Home Depot we bought some supplies to start our garden.  Since we have a large backyard we figured why not do some fruit trees and garden beds.  But we'll start small.  We bought seed packets and other supplies.
Just planted.  There were some REALLY old seeds, and then our new seeds

Not even a week old and the broccoli is growing along with a random pumpkin seed
Every now and then when it's a nice day outside, and the kids are being good.  I get a chance to go out.  Right now we're ripping out what was previously there.  My arms got a bit sore from shoveling dirt and removing some old landscape fabric.
This works great for her to be outside while I work in the garden.

The weather has been typical spring.  Nice days, then spring storms.  Yesterday's was the craziest I've seen in a while.  It started out drizzling, then some intense rain.  Suddenly it ended and there was sunshine.  Then just 30 minutes later it was dark and hail started falling.  Thunder started booming overhead with lightning flashing not far away, and then it proceeded to snow a ton.  Nothing stuck around but definitely was crazy.
Watching the hail

Together watching the changing weather

Ellie is such a crazy active girl.  Dexter was active and mobile, but he didn't really explore or get into things.  She is the complete opposite.  Opening drawers, standing up to everything, trying to walk, shoving EVERYTHING into that mouth.  When we need to do something without her being crazy, she now gets placed in the playpen.
Resigned to the fact that she's stuck in the pen

Little brother's stuff isn't safe anymore.  She can stand and scooch a little around the table

And this is how she wakes up.  Standing and yelling at us.

Food time!

Their cute Easter/Spring clothes.  Got them for 60% off!

  1. I love the standing in the crib yelling at you. Milo used to do that (now he just talks to the wall?) but it cracks me up. They hold on to the crib like it's prison :) Such a cute little standing girl!! Can't believe how big they are getting.

  2. Elle doesn't seem to be enjoying her outside pen in that picture.

I know that the sample is still too small, but so far you guys are doing a good job replicating Kyle's family (boy, 2 years later a girl). Just make sure this one understands the concept of time. As in being on
