(I'm Dreaming of) A White Christmas

For the first time, we had our own Christmas entirely at our own house with just our small family.  It was quiet, small and simple.  Just the way I like things.
We woke up and there was just a dusting of snow all around.  As we were opening presents though the snow picked up, and it was a beautiful white Christmas.
Just a dusting
Dexter was excited to find his stocking and a couple of presents from Santa near it.  They got to open and play with these first.
Santa came!

"Santa got me candy!"

Starting to play with the stocking gifts

They were excited for the flashlights that were in the stockings
Then we had doughnuts and milk for our Christmas breakfast.
This one was all Christmassy
Now time to open up all the presents.
Still playing with the flashlights

One of our applesauce-cinnamon ornaments hung up

She checked out her Sleeping Beauty coloring book (Dexter gave it to her)

Dexter liked all the pirate gear that Ellie got for him

Cozying up in his new sleeping bag

Playing with all the new bath toys

Dad helping them get some of their goodies out
She couldn't wait for it to be finished

Sitting by some of his presents

Santa had left the kids a message

The kids got board games, Imaginext guys, mini tricycle, books, and a few other things here and there.  It wasn't a big takeaway because their main gift isn't coming until spring.  We're going to build them a playground in the backyard.  We told Dexter, but it went right over his head.  Each of the grandparents also pitched in with this large gift.

Well the snow had increased a bit by now.  So we all put on snow clothes and went outside!
Didn't like all that it takes to put on

The boys stomping around the yard

Dad started rolling a snowball

At first she was definitely not a fan

Sled time

She liked this a little better

Dexter would hop on and off
Making his own snowballs

Can't quite decide...

He was loving it

Cleaned off the railing
Ellie's time outside ended, but she loved to watch Dad and Dexter still play.  Dad decided throwing snowballs at her would be fun, and she loved it.
SPLAT!!

Watching them outside
We came in for some warm stew for lunch, and then played.  While the kids took their naps, we were busy packing our bags for our trip to Vegas!
Goodbye my fans

Don't forget to pack me!
